The ICOMF14 is the fourteen international conference devoted to organized molecular films and organic nanostructures in general. With the expansion of physics, chemistry and biology at interfaces or at nanoscale, the scope of the conference includes interdisciplinary topics related to organic films (Self-Assembled Monolayers and Langmuir Blodgett films), applications such as biosensors, molecular and hybrid devices, surfaces treatment and adhesion, membranes and bioinspired systems. The related nano-science aspects and nano-technologies will be also extensively discussed. The conference will be of interest to chemists, physicists, biologists, material scientists, polymer and liquid crystal scientists, chemical engineers and researchers in related fields.
These conferences (LB conferences) started in 1982 at Durham (England), are held every two years and have been hosted by many different countries. The meetings provide a forum for the exchange of concepts and ideas between scientists from almost the entire world (Asia, Europe, America, etc.). In hosting the conference at Paris Descartes University, in the centre of Paris in 2012, we expect a large number of students and researchers to participate in a broad discussion of the fundamental and applied aspects of organized molecular films.
